The goal of this program is to improve identification of types of flexor tendon injuries, patient outcomes through understanding of principles of flexor tendon repair, and use of 2-stage flexor tendon repair. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Optimize timing of flexor tendon repair. 2. Differentiate among the zones of flexor tendon injury and devise an appropriate management strategy for each. 3. Compare the various types of sutures used in flexor tendon repair. 4. Explain the difference between core stitches and epitendinous sutures in flexor tendon repair. 5. Contrast the inflammation and proliferation phases of healing in 2-stage flexor tendon repair.
