PAIN MANAGEMENT/ANTICOAGULATION IN PERIPHERAL ARTERIAL DISEASE

The goal of this program is to improve management of chronic pain and management of peripheral artery disease (PAD) with anticoagulation therapy. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify patients who are eligible to receive opiates.
2. Select medications for patients with depression and chronic pain.
3. Recognize patients with risk factors for opioid misuse.
4. Use anticoagulants to reduce rates of cardiovascular events in patients with PAD.
5. Identify patients with comorbidities of PAD who would benefit from combination therapy with rivaroxaban and aspirin.
