PALLIATIVE CARE/PULMONARY EMBOLISM/LIMB SALVAGE INTERVENTIONS

The goal of this program is to improve use of palliative care (PC), management of pulmonary embolism (PE) in the trauma patient, and treatment of patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Cite evidence assessing end-of-life care in patients considered for transplantation.
2. Optimize use of PC in the outpatient setting.
3. Explain risk stratification for PE according to European Society of Cardiology guidelines.
4. Use vasopressors effectively in patients with PE.
5. Compare use of endovascular repair with open bypass in patients undergoing transmetatarsal amputation.
