There is a multitude of surgical techniques for both benign and malignant processes of the pancreas including different types of surgical excision. This activity reviews the current medical literature on pancreatectomy (excluding pancreaticoduodenectomy) and highlights the role of the healthcare team in evaluating and treating patients who undergo total, central, and distal pancreatectomy.
