The goal of this program is to improve management of patients with acute pancreatitis (AP) and chronic pancreatitis (CP) and improve clinical decision-making (CDM) regarding use of short-term mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize AP based on disease severity.
2. Conduct workup to elicit the cause of AP.
3. Analyze the potential complications for AP and CP.
4. Manage pain for patients with CP.
5. Evaluate the factors involved in ethical CDM with regard to use of a short-term MCS device.
