The goal of this program is to improve the parenting approach to adolescent mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic and the management of pediatric autism. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize the magnitude of pandemic-driven stress and its impact on adolescent mental health.
2. Strategize with parents about developing appropriate and effective goals for meeting their child’s mental health needs.
3. Recommend positive parenting and self-calming strategies for managing stress in the family environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
4. Elaborate on the current understanding of behavioral issues in children with autism.
5. Select appropriate treatment methods in children with autism-related behavioral issues.
