The goal of this program is to improve management of medication in breastfeeding mothers and outcomes of obstetric anesthesia in patients with COVID-19, and prevent perioperative respiratory adverse events in children. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Apply understanding of the pharmacokinetics of drugs to treat-ment recommendations made for breastfeeding mothers.
2. Select medications safe for use in breastfeeding mothers.
3. Make recommendations for antepartum management of COVID-19.
4. Recognize the potential postpartum complications of COVID-19 infection.
5. Choose safe modes of anesthesia delivery for children at high risk for perioperative respiratory adverse events.
