PEDIATRIC CANCER PREDISPOSITION/HEREDITARY HEMATOLOGIC MALIGNANCIES

The goal of this program is to improve detection of cancer predisposition syndromes (CPS) in pediatric patients, and of germline predisposition for hematologic malignancies. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Use tumor profiling to identify patients with CPS.
2. Refer candidates for genetic testing for CPS based on physical findings and family history.
3. Differentiate cancer types with probable germline mutations from those without.
4. Correlate patient and family history with likelihood of germline predisposition for hematologic malignancies.
5. Select an appropriate testing platform based on cancer type and family history.
