The goal of this program is to improve management of common pediatric conditions through evidence-based practices and improve evaluation of children for an intellectual disability (ID) or develop-mental delay (DD) through genetic testing. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Illustrate the risks and benefits of adjuvant corticosteroid therapy for children with acute pyelonephritis.
2. Recognize the future risk for coronary artery calcifications based on adolescent levels of non-high-density lipoprotein.
3. Identify the elements of patient history most strongly associated with cardiac syncope in children.
4. Prevent the development of dental caries in children.
5. Order appropriate tests to diagnose an ID or DD.
