The goal of this program is to improve perioperative management of pain in patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) using buprenor phine and use of ketamine as a perioperative drug. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Compare the peak effect of buprenorphine with that of fentanyl. 2. Explain the pharmacokinetics of buprenorphine. 3. Evaluate the adverse effects of ketamine as a perioperative drug. 4. Assess the role of ketamine in pain management in pediatric patients. 5. Optimize use of ketamine for analgesia.
