The goal of this program is to improve management of portal hypertension, diagnosis and management of long-term complications associated with bariatric surgery, and use of cannabis for patients with gastrointestinal disorders. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Identify common causes of portal hypertension. 2. Develop strategies for prophylaxis and management of esophageal and gastric varices in patients with portal hypertension. 3. Cite common long-term complications associated with bariatric surgery procedures. 4. Manage common long-term complications of bariatric surgery. 5. Summarize the potential benefits and harms of cannabis for patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
