The goal of this program is to improve management of portal hypertension, and management of liver fibrosis with noninvasive tests. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Identify factors associated with improved clinical outcomes in patients with hepatorenal syndrome. 2. Select diagnostic tests for hepatic encephalopathy. 3. Use liver-specific blood-based biomarkers to predict advanced fibrosis. 4. Choose non-invasive imaging modalities for evaluation of liver fibrosis. 5. Recognize limitations of transient elastography in select populations.
