The goal of this program is to improve delivery of intraopera-tive vaccinations for children, application of pulse oximetry, and management of traumatic brain injury (TBI) in children. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Enumerate the benefits associated with perioperative administration of vaccinations to children. 2. Recognize the limitations of pulse oximetry with regard to skin tone. 3. Evaluate the severity of TBI based on the Glasgow coma scale. 4. Optimize the use of induction agents in pediatric patients with TBI. 5. Achieve target values for intracranial pressure and cere-bral perfusion pressure in pediatric patients with TBI.
