Preventing Hepatitis B Infection in US Adults

In this recorded webinar, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID), the American Pharmacists Association, and the Hepatitis B Foundation hold a discussion during Hepatitis Awareness Month on the prevention of hepatitis B infection in US adults. Topics addressed include current US recommendations for hepatitis B vaccination and screening in adults, along with strategies for effective communication of current recommendations. NFID Medical Director Robert (Bob) H. Hopkins, Jr., MD, moderates the discussion with NFID Director Jean-Venable (Kelly) R. Goode, PharmD, Professor and Director, Virginia Commonwealth University; Lindsey Sizemore, MPH, CPH, Clinical Interventions Team Lead, Division of Viral Hepatitis, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and Su Wang, MD, MPH, Senior Advisor for Global Health, Hepatitis B Foundation. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: Describe the burden of hepatitis B in the US Discuss current hepatitis B vaccination and screening recommendations for US adults Discuss strategies to increase hepatitis B vaccination rates among US adults There is no fee to participate in this activity, but pre-registration is required.
