PCMHI is a required component of VHA primary care and has been shown to increase Veteran access to and engagement with critical mental health services. Successful implementation and sustainability are contingent upon establishing a strong baseline of knowledge and skill among PCMHI leaders, as well as providing opportunities for ongoing maintenance and advanced training to keep abreast of current guidance as it evolves over time. The purpose of this live-virtual, knowledge-based webinar for PCMHI leaders is to foster a community of practice supporting PCMHI Team Leads, Program Managers, and VISN and Facility Trainers through timely provision of didactic content targeted to common PCMHI implementation challenges. This monthly session will discuss pros and cons of a team-wide approach to PCMHI same-day access (SDA), introduce resources for implementation, and highlight lessons learned from a PCMHI team that recently implemented this approach. PCMHI leaders will be equipped with knowledge to evaluate, refine, and/or redesign their current approach to SDA to improve Veteran care.
