Procedural Sedation for Pediatrics

Procedural Sedation for Pediatrics

The American Red Cross Pediatric Procedural Sedation online course, developed in collaboration with the American Society of Anesthesiologists, is designed for non-anesthesia healthcare professionals who care for pediatric patients receiving moderate sedation. This course will provide competency-based education, based on the most current evidence-based practices and incorporating patient safety and regulatory standards prior to, during, and after moderate sedation administration. The course content focuses on developmentally appropriate sedation care of the pediatric patient, from infancy through adolescence. Highly specialized patient populations such as the premature and newborn are outside of the scope of this course.
