The goal of this program is to improve pelvic lymph node dissection for the management of prostate cancer, the diagnosis of bladder outlet obstruction (BOO), and early continence recovery after robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Assess the benefits associated with using nomograms in predicting positive lymph nodes in prostate cancer. 2. Identify the role of prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography in detecting lymph node involvement in prostate cancer. 3. Cite the different causes of BOO. 4. List the changes observed during BOO progression as bladder function declines. 5. Choose among the surgical techniques employed to enhance continence recovery during radical prostatectomy.
