Quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs) are widely available in cleaning, disinfecting, and personal care products. QAC-containing products have seen increased household use due to the COVID-19 pandemic. High QAC exposure can lead to toxicity and significant health risks. This activity reviews the pathophysiology, evaluation, and management of QAC toxicity and highlights the role of interprofessional collaborative care for affected individuals.
