After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Choose appropriate settings for use of bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) for a patient with an episode of severe refractory asthma. 2. Administer medications to improve tolerance of BiPAP for a patient with an episode of severe refractory asthma. 3. Distinguish coarctation of the aorta from other causes of mottling in a newborn. 4. Select an appropriate method of decontamination for overdoses involving extended-release drugs. 5. Appropriately administer a lipid emulsion infusion for a patient with evolving cardiogenic shock after taking an overdose of an extended-release medication.
