This activity reviews the normal sleep architecture, the compensatory mechanism of REM rebound, and the potential long-term consequences of sleep disruption. Further, this activity evaluates the essential contribution of interprofessional teams in improving patient care, especially for individuals experiencing REM rebound due to medical conditions or various psychosocial and physical stressors.
