The goal of this program is to improve management of retinoblastoma (RB) and acute optic neuritis (AON). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Predict short- and long-term outcomes of various therapies for RB.
2. Identify RBs that are more likely to be associated with germ-line mutation and those that are at high risk for metastatic disease.
3. Perform clinical evaluations and diagnostic testing to deter-mine the etiology of AON.
4. Describe the trajectory of visual recovery from AON with and without steroid treatment.
5. Assess risk for multiple sclerosis in the setting of AON with or without interferon therapy.
