The goal of this program is to improve the management of rheu-matic conditions in pediatric patients and treatment of mothers with opioid use disorder and their offspring. After hearing and assimilat-ing this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Diagnose the cause of joint symptoms in children.
2. Recognize mimics of juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
3. Explain the advantages of buprenorphine therapy for manage-ment of opioid use disorder in pregnancy.
4. Assess newborns for neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS).
5. Recommend appropriate pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment for infants with NOWS.
