The goal of this program is to review the history and evolution of robotic surgery and evidence for various robotic surgery systems on the market. After hearing and assimilating this pro gram, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Differentiate between the various versions of the da Vinci robotic surgical system. 2. Identify the risks and benefits of various types of robotic surgical systems. 3. Select appropriate techniques for robot-assisted surgery based on available evidence. 4. Utilize robotic surgery in cases where the benefits outweigh risks. 5. Compare robotic, laparoscopic, and open surgeries in terms of patient outcomes.
