This face to face and live virtual knowledge-based activity is being provided to maintain and expand pharmacy knowledge and regarding current changes within pharmacy practice. It is designed to address knowledge gaps for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians enhancing their knowledge when providing care to patients. As their roles continue to expand to more global practice, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians knowledge of disease management is necessary. Research has shown that regularly scheduled care conferences, such as grand rounds help providers increase their knowledge with most recent recommendations/guideline updates. Guidelines continuely are updated and it has been noted that there is a need to increase pharmacy specific continuing education opportunities at SAVAHCS and this program hopes to address this concern. This course uses didactic training with case studies to increase learner knowledge for clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians so they can better understand the drugs use, monitoring parameters and up to date practice recommendations. Program participants will participate in a Level II evaluation to discuss the efficacy of this educational series.
