The goal of this program is to improve diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted diseases and vaginitis and management of pre-eclampsia using low-dose aspirin. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Perform a diagnostic workup for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and vaginitis.
2. Develop screening protocols for STIs based on risk factors and sexual behaviors.
3. Treat common STIs and vaginal infections.
4. Describe proposed mechanisms of action through which low-dose aspirin may reduce risk for preeclampsia.
5. Identify patients at high risk for preeclampsia who may benefit from aspirin prophylaxis.
