The goal of this program is to improve management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in adolescents. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinicians will be better able to:
1. Analyze current epidemiology trends among adolescents with STIs.
2. Interpret STI treatment guidelines for specific population subsets.
3. Understand changes in testing and treatment guidelines for chlamydia and gonorrhea.
4. Determine when to offer expedited partner therapy to treat STIs.
5. Prescribe appropriate antibiotic treatment for various common STIs.
