The goal of this program is to improve management of patients quitting smoking and management of patients with Parkinson disease with physical therapy. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Advise patients on the benefits and the process of tobacco cessation.
2. Employ strategies that increase the success rate of patients quitting smoking.
3. Select medications and nicotine replacement therapies to assist patients in quitting smoking.
4. Design exercise programs of frequency and intensity appropriate to patient needs.
5. Apply treatments to ameliorate symptoms of Parkinson disease.
