The goal of this program is to improve the management of stiff person syndrome (SPS), chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and penetrating brain injury. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Identify the clinical features of SPS. 2. Summarize the pathophysiology and management of SPS. 3. Recognize the increased risk for neurodegeneration in individuals with repetitive head injury. 4. Detect early signs of chronic traumatic encephalopathy in individuals with repeated concussions. 5. Analyze the outcomes of patients with penetrating brain injury in trauma centers.
