STROKE UPDATES/HEADACHE MANAGEMENT

The goal of this program is to improve the detection and management of stroke and headache management during and after treatment of spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Examine evidence supporting the use of dual antiplatelet therapy for minor stroke or transient ischemic attack.
2. Recognize the advantages and disadvantages of adopting mobile stroke units.
3. Determine whether monitoring for atrial fibrillation is appropriate for stroke prevention.
4. Differentiate between headache caused by CSF leak and other types of headache with similar presentations.
5. Select appropriate treatment strategies for management of headache during and after CSF leak.
