The goal of this program is to improve management of adolescent substance use disorder (SUD) and neonatal and peri-natal palliative care (PPC). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Optimize screening of young persons with SUD.
2. Utilize the screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) strategy to address SUD in adolescents.
3. Define the components of PPC vs hospice care.
4. Address the various components of PPC during the pre-natal and neonatal periods.
5. Improve communication between the family and palliative care team.
