The goal of this program is to improve surgical management of conditions common to pediatric patients, and management of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify the signs and symptoms of appendicitis.
2. Use tests and measures to diagnose patients with recurrent abdominal pain.
3. Assess patients with gastrointestinal issues for surgical interventions.
4. Select the appropriate device for occlusion of PDAs.
5. Apply modified techniques and procedures for closure of PDAs in premature babies.
