The goal of this program is to improve management of liver tumors using ablation techniques, malignant liver tumors using minimally invasive techniques for liver resection, and adrenal tumors. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify benefits and pitfalls of radiofrequency or micro-wave ablation techniques for management of different types of liver tumors.
2. Select patients with liver tumors who are most likely to benefit from liver ablation.
3. Compare outcomes of minimally invasive liver resection with those of open resection in patients with malignant liver tumors.
4. Implement strategies for management of patients with adrenal tumors.
5. Choose the optimal surgical approach for adrenalectomy based on tumor characteristics.
