The goal of this program is to improve the diagnostic accu racy of infectious diseases and quality of care for geriatric patients in the emergency department (ED). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Use a probabilistic approach in diagnosing infectious diseases. 2. Minimize overdiagnosis of infectious disease. 3. Outline the triage process in the ED. 4. Eliminate bias in the ED to improve care of geriatric patients. 5. Identify the core requirements for geriatric ED accreditation.
