The goal of this program is to improve the diagnosis, management, and evaluation of the effects of low testosterone levels in men and dose management in focal brachytherapy. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Describe the effects of testosterone therapy on various organs.
2. Recognize the association between low testosterone levels and higher risk for mortality in individuals with comorbid conditions.
3. Evaluate the effects of testosterone therapy on the cardio-vascular system.
4. Compare the risks and benefits of using brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery technique for delivering high-intensity and focused radiation therapy in individuals with prostate cancer.
5. Calculate the dose required to achieve a desirable biologically equivalent dose in patients who require brachytherapy.
