The goal of the Cardiovascular Conference is to present cases of clinical significance for review among hospital staff and medical staff members and to initiate discussions regarding particular methods of treatment and create a broader understanding among staff members about the utilization and benefits of different diagnostic modalities. The long term goal of the conference is to broaden the scope of inclusion and include other modalities as they pertain to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The cases presented will center on invasive and noninvasive evaluation of the heart and vascular system. Modalities included could be echocardiography, nuclear medicine, and/or heart catheterization. Every quarter cases with multiple modalities are presented by physicians. Each case is reviewed and discussed among medical staff and staff members. During the discussion, underlying principles and contributions of each modality will be discussed as to their clinical significance to the case.
