Diabetes remains a leading cause of death and disability. Nearly half of the American adult population has been diagnosed with diabetes or prediabetes. Glycemic control continues to be suboptimal despite the wide range of available medications and advances in technology. The Update on Diabetes XLVII symposium provides an overview of the advances in diabetes care. The challenges of diabetes management, and practical ways to overcome these barriers, will be addressed. Presentations will focus on the best practices in controlling glucose through technology, medications, and individualizing treatments for patients with diabetes.
