The goal of this program is to improve the use of opioid treatment and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Elaborate on the mechanism of action of opioids.
2. Optimize strategies of pain management with the appropriate use of opioids.
3. Recommend measures for safe disposal of leftover opioid medications.
4. Select patients who are good candidates for ECMO.
5. Utilize appropriate cannulation strategies in patients receiving ECMO.
