This series will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to manage the emotional and physiological symptoms of stress while identifying and addressing the system drivers of fatigue present in the healthcare environment. This session introduces participants to the skills necessary for finding connection and support and describes how regularly seeking support from one s network can help cope with or manage the harmful effects of work. In the session, participants learn the four functions of a support network, including empowering people to confront you when symptomatic, sharing personal narratives of painful and joyful work experiences, having the ability to safely tell on yourself to decrease denial, and teaching your network how you need to be supported. Participants learn how to honor work experiences through exercises to create and share a personal narrative timeline and how to create a plan to engage their support network. The goal of these exercises is to give participants tools to build a support community to cope with ongoing workplace stress. This session is a stand-alone learning opportunity, but it requires the pre-requisite of Session 1.
