This series will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to manage the emotional and physiological symptoms of stress while identifying and addressing the system drivers of fatigue present in the healthcare environment. This session highlights that stress can cause people to exhibit reactive behavior and introduces participants to the skill of intentionality. Intentionality or acting with intention involves understanding one s values, staying true to one s principles, and staying loyal to one s mission. In the session, participants learn and practice skills for healthy communication, discuss the various models of ethics, and learn and practice an exercise to help them articulate their mission and values related to their healthcare work. These exercises aim to reduce the impact of stress-induced reactivity and manage stress by remembering their career motivations. This course is a stand-alone learning opportunity, but it requires the pre-requisite of Session 1.
