This series will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to manage the emotional and physiological symptoms of stress while identifying and addressing the system drivers of fatigue present in the healthcare environment. This session lays the foundation for trauma and trauma-informed care, identifies the factors that contributed to the shift in narrative from trauma to resilience in the UChicago Medicine training vocabulary, introduces course participants to the UChicago Medicine Framework for Resilience-Based Care, and creates a business case for resilience as it relates to the functionality of UChicago Medicine. This session is a stand-alone learning opportunity, but it is also a prerequisite for taking any remaining courses in the Resilience Based Care Skills Training curriculum.
