The goals of this program are to improve the management of thyroid disease and provide an update on medication interactions during the treatment of substance use disorder. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Differentiate between primary, secondary, and central hypothyroidism. 2. Choose between monotherapy and combination therapy for the management of hypothyroidism. 3. Interpret the results of thyroid function tests to effectively manage thyroid disease. 4. Adopt strategies for effective management of substance use disorders. 5. Elaborate on the benefits of treating substance use disorders in primary care.
