The goal of this program is to improve management of toxic alcohol poisoning, management of common toxicities, and management of difficult airway. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Choose treatments to prevent the formation of toxic metabo lites from alcohol. 2. Select an appropriate test for diagnosis of toxic alcohol poisoning. 3. Recognize patients with sodium nitrite poisoning who require treatment with methylene blue. 4. Differentiate indications for cricothyroidotomy from indications for tracheostomy. 5. Use anatomic standards to predict difficult airway in patients undergoing intubation.
