The goal of this program is to improve management of patients receiving transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts (TIPS) and surgical management of pancreatic cancer (PC). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify patients who are eligible to receive TIPS.
2. Predict the risk for complications from TIPS with diagnostic testing.
3. Choose medications to prevent hepatic encephalopathy.
4. Use computed tomography to assess patients suspected of PC.
5. Provide the opportunity to undergo surgical resection to more patients.
