TRAUMA AND COMPASSION FATIGUE/REGIONAL ANESTHESIA

The goal of this program is to improve strategies for minimizing secondary trauma in physicians and management of pain associated with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify the symptoms of secondary traumatic stress in physicians.
2. Recognize conditions in the workplace that contribute to high rates of burnout.
3. Implement organizational strategies to combat burnout.
4. Select medications for inclusion in multimodal analgesia regimens.
5. Compare and contrast local infiltration anesthesia with nerve blocks for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
