The goal of this program is to improve transfusions in treatment of trauma, use of technologic advancements in management of trauma, and treatment of cervical spine injuries in children. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Diagnose hypofibrinogenemia in trauma patients.
2. Cite guidelines for fibrinogen use in trauma.
3. Explain the use of computed tomography arteriography in patients suffering trauma.
4. Contrast thromboelastography with standard coagulation studies in assessment of patients suffering trauma.
5. Compare the Canadian C-Spine Rule criteria with those of the National Emergency X-Radiography Utilization Study.
