TREATMENT FOR OPIOID ADDICTION/HYPERTHERMIC INTRAPERITONEAL CHEMOTHERAPY/FASCIAL PLANE BLOCKS

The goal of this program is to improve the management of buprenor-phine addiction, administration of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy, and use of fascial plane blocks in regional anesthesia care. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Maximize the current care of overdose patients in the emer-gency department.
2. Compare the efficacy of buprenorphine with other treatment options for opioid addiction.
3. Identify the goals of each stage of heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).
4. Optimize fluid management in patients undergoing HIPEC surgery.
5. Select an appropriate fascial plane block for regional anes-thesia care.
