The goal of this program is to improve the management of complications of trabeculectomy, diagnosis and management of glaucoma in patients with myopia, and cataract surgery in patients with glaucoma. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Diagnose complications of trabeculectomy.
2. Assess the need for early surgical intervention vs conservative therapy following trabeculectomy.
3. Analyze clinical features and risk factors that aid in the diagnosis of glaucoma in patients with myopia.
4. Predict risk for open-angle glaucoma based on severity of myopia.
5. Choose an appropriate intraocular lens (IOL) based on glaucoma severity and other patient characteristics.
