The goal of this program is to improve performance of mechanical thrombectomy (MT), diagnosis and management of pediatric large vessel occlusion stroke, and genetic testing for neurovascular dis orders. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Weigh the advantages and disadvantages of use of a direct aspiration, first pass technique (ADAPT) vs stent retrieval in patients with ischemic stroke. 2. Maximize use of MT based on the clinical scenario. 3. Consider intravenous thrombolysis for pediatric patients who present with symptoms of large vessel occlusion stroke. 4. Associate specific clinical features with common neurovas cular disorders. 5. Perform genetic testing for select individuals with common neurovascular disorders.
