The goal of this program is to improve the management of dislocated intraocular lenses, patients undergoing cataract surgery with light adjust-able lenses, and ophthalmologic emergencies in children. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Apply surgical techniques for repositioning or replacing dislocated intraocular lenses.
2. Select patients who are good candidates for implantation of light adjustable lenses during cataract surgery.
3. Identify various ophthalmologic emergencies in the pediatric population.
4. Initiate treatment for ophthalmologic emergencies.
5. Improve patient outcomes through timely referral for ophthalmologic evaluation.
