The goal of this program is to improve management of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in children and common pediatric conditions through incorporation of novel evidence- based interventions. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Recognize the variances associated with the clinical definition of a UTI. 2. Weigh benefits vs risks associated with timing of antibiotic treatment for UTIs. 3. Apply current clinical guidelines regarding screening for vesicoureteral reflux among children with UTIs. 4. Reduce pain among children with primary herpetic gingivostomatitis. 5. Compare use of diluted apple juice vs electrolyte maintenance solution for oral rehydration.
